Cate Quinn | Black Widows | OUT NOW | REVIEW | BLOG TOUR

Plot: Blake's dead. His wife killed him. The question is: which one?

The short chapters alternate between each of the three wives (yes you read that right I said three!). There is a lot of food for thought in terms of religion, relationships & polygamy in this novel.

It is well written, it gave me the just-one-more-chapter bug, the whodunit intrigue had me turning the pages until the dark twisty ending. I did guess the killer, which detracted from the story for me, I'd much rather be outsmarted.

None-the-less is it a fascinating read & offers a glimpse into Mormon culture.

"The river has a current, and I'm being swept downstream. I never did learn to swim. It feels like cold water and realisation are hitting me so hard I can't tell the difference

People: The three wives Rachel, Tina & Emily are all very different, the more you read the more unsure you become of who is telling the truth, of what really happened...

Tina was my favourite her witty dark sense of humour was a joy to read.

Pace: This is a medium-paced, dark & mysterious read. I enjoyed this one and will be on the lookout to see what Quinn does next!
